Likely Fees: For taking your instructions, attending to others such as the Prosecution, preparation and advocacy, we charge £275-£300 plus vat per hour. Short letters and telephone calls are £25 plus vat each. Longer letters or telephone calls are charged as for preparation or attendance time. Barristers fees will be professionally negotiated on your behalf. A bundle fee can also be negotiated and paid monthly.
Road Traffic Cases start at £400 plus vat for a professional plea. This would involve taking instructions on a matter such as Speeding or Failing to give the name of the driver, and then presenting the plea at Court. Instructions can be dealt with on the phone or at a short meeting. This is based on about 1.5-2 hours of work in total, including travel costs and may include a short wait at the Court. For this type of case a fixed fee can be agreed in advance instead of hourly rates.
For Not Guilty Road Traffic Cases, the following fees below would apply as a starting point. In some cases a fixed fee could be agreed in advance:-

The services would normally be carried out by Toby Brothers himself in full for a Magistrates court case, unless it was agreed, for example, that Counsel would deal with a Magistrates Court trial. For Crown Court cases Toby Brothers would deal with preparation, taking instructions and negotiating with the Prosecution. However, Counsel would be arranged on your behalf for advocacy at the Crown Court including trial.
